Al and Bex had the most amazing and unique wedding! I don’t normally harp on about the wedding details because I strongly believe it’s all about the people, but their efforts deserve due attention! Bex’s wedding dress was custom made from her collection of vintage lace, and material that she had printed with actual sepia photographs of their family. This same material was used to create two custom standard lamps, each showing Al and Bex’s families! Bex also wore a rustic military jacket with Al’s pin, which matched the flower girls’ military jackets and pins. She also wore Irregular Choice boots that she stained with tea bags to create the vintage sepia effect that matched the dress! Al wore his uniform! The ceremony took place at their local church where the ring bearer carried a book called The Secret Ring, which had been hollowed out to hold the rings. As a surprise for Al, Bex booked Pelaton & Co. for after the ceremony- a combo of Al’s favourite things: coffee and cycling!
At Chichley Hall they had a stunning overgrown library themed wedding, the rooms were decorated with lamps entwined with raspberry and lush green florals, the balcony hung with long draping vines that matched Bex’s floor length bouquet, the guests found their seats from being given stamped old fashioned library cards and the table numbers were based on the dewey decimal classification system. Each table place had An Observer’s guide. The rest of the rooms of Chicheley Hall was decorated with book themed decor including paper butterflies flying out of a book in a belljar, lots of vintage and old school games (I’ve found a new love in Puck it!) and a gramophone that the guests could use, courtesy of the Gramophone DJs, who I had previously met at Aiji and Alex’s wedding! Instead of a first dance they did a group Charleston led by the Gramophone DJs before tucking into port, cheese and wedding cake!
