Same-sex marriage is legalised!

Hoorah! Finally, same-sex marriage receives legal recognition in England! This is an agenda I’ve tweeted and posted about for quite a while now as an open advocate for equal rights.

As wonderful as this is for England, it still makes me sad that in other countries, it isn’t even legal to be gay, let alone consider marriage. People assume that homosexuality is only illegal in undeveloped countries but even in my parent’s country of origin, (Singapore- cleanest country in the world), they’re maintaining a law that gives them the right to jail homosexual men for no real reason other than to purport the belief that homosexuality is wrong. Singapore’s section 377A states:

“Any male person who, in public or private, commits, or abets the commission of, or procures or attempts to procure the commission by any male person of, any act of gross indecency with another male person, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 2 years.”

So basically two consenting males can be jailed for loving each other…

Someone recently shared with me a collection of 36 photos from Russia where they have recently passed a law banning “homosexual propaganda”, (whatever that’s meant to be!!)

I hope this post raises awareness that although another country has overcome a landmark for human rights, that the agenda is far from over. If you want to help Russia please sign the following petition:
