Alternative documentary wedding photography at Prestwold Hall!

This was a very special wedding for me for several reasons. 1. I rarely get to shoot in such ace light. London venues tend to be darker and more atmospheric than the old country houses 2. It’s the wedding of a friend from my course who was literally THE origin of my wedding photography career. Years ago when I was doing my PhD, one of my friends saw my hobbyist photography and said “hey my mum is getting married, she’s not fussed about the photos why don’t you have a go?”. I shot her mum’s wedding and the rest became a history. So it felt brilliantly karmic to be able to shoot the daughter’s wedding many years later! They got ready and held the whole wedding in one location, Prestwold Hall, a super stunning old manor house in the Midlands. The bridesmaids wore gorgeous grey beaded dresses and the bride wore a classic lace wedding dress whilst the groom and groomsmen wore blue. The stunning floristry was provided by Justine Baxter and Hair and Make Up was by Cristina Lazzarotto and Sarah Newton. Prestwold Hall hosted a Pimp your Prosecco bar during the drinks reception which preceded the dinner. The speeches which followed were equally hilarious and emotional, especially between the bride and her bridesmaids. After dinner the sun was still out so the guests enjoyed lawn games and croquet until it got too chilly and they all came indoors for the first dance and party time!
