An intimate wedding at Cambridge Cottage, Kew Gardens in London

Darryl and Lou were guests at a previous wedding I’d shot- the super cute Pippa and Jack who were featured on Rock My Wedding. They were having an intimate and low key wedding at the stunning Cambridge Cottage venue in Kew Gardens. I’ve shot here once before, but a really long time ago in my first year as a wedding photographer so I was pleased to come back and see how far my work had come since Jess and Jon’s wedding. I started the day at the Hilton down the road with Lou and her bridesmaids. They’d already finished their hair and make up so I just shot them chilling out and getting dressed. The bridesmaids wore plum Coast dresses and Darryl wore a tweed waistcoated-suit. At Kew Gardens they hold the civil ceremony in one room decorated with lovely old paintings, stone vases and busts. Following that the guests have drinks and canapes out on the private green. During this time the couple have a chance to nip out on a golf buggy and get their shots around the iconic Kew Gardens. After that all the guests went in for the speeches and dinner, followed by the usual wedding timeline of cutting the cake, evening buffet and dancing time. Lou and Darryl’s guests were hilarious and had excellent reactions to the speeches! The couple booked me up until a bit after the first dance so I shot a bit of the boogie time and drunken tomfoolery before calling it a beautiful albeit shorter day!
