Groom prep at the Rookery, Farringdon
I started the day with these two wonderful grooms at the four star boutique Rookery hotel, just a short walk from their Balfour St Barts wedding. It’s such a cool venue for wedding prep for your London wedding, the rooms have atmospheric light and elegant decor. They got ready with their friends a.k.a their ceremony celebrants, putting on their button holes and corsages from Flower Station. After getting ready they walked through the infamous Smithfield Market, where we paused along the way to take a few couple photos with the urban light in the iconic London backdrops.

Balfour St Barts wedding ceremony
The couple chose to have their wedding ceremony conducted by two of their friends, with J’s niece singing Etta James to welcome them in. They put up a UK and US flag to represent each of their nationalities and to celebrate the family from both sides coming together. D is an actor, and I have to say I LOVE shooting for the thespian crowd because it meant many of the guests were comfortable in front of the camera, willing to share their emotions during the heart felt ceremony. They also paid homage to D’s Jewish heritage with the tradition of the smashing of the glass.

Clerkenwell wedding venue reception
After the ceremony the guests moved either to the upstairs bar or outside to drink whilst the Balfour St Barts staff rearranged the room to set for the dinner. Instead of wedding cake they had a Norwegian Kransekake brought by a family member. They had a sticker/temporary tattoo/magnet station with their custom wedding logo on it. The guests enjoyed choosing what to take as a wedding favour and putting the temporary tattoos on each other. Before dinner several speeches were given by siblings of each groom.

London Jewish wedding party
After their first dance, they enjoyed some Jewish dancing including the hora chair dance. Following that for the rest of the night the guests enjoyed pop music through the decades and partied super hard!
