Marylebone Town Hall and Loft Studios wedding

Marylebone Town Hall wedding

Cavitha and Harry enquired with me as Cavitha and I went to the same secondary school although we didn't know each other as we were in different years. They were having both a traditional Hindu wedding and their London party wedding, and I shot the latter which started with their civil ceremony at Marylebone Town Hall. Harry wore a blue suit and Cavitha wore a relaxed lace mini dress and red shoes

Loft Studios wedding

I love Loft Studios weddings ever since I first shot one there for Martin and Vanessa, it's a great multi room industrial style wedding venue with a great team looking after you. It had plenty of spaces both indoor and outside under a cover to hold the dinner drinks and dance floor. Cavitha and Harry arrived there in her sister's Toyota decorated with flowers, they started off having a few couple shots before they went to get changed into their evening outfits of a velvet green sparkling dress and grey three piece.

They cut their gorgeous cake before a series of spaces from bridesmaids and groomsmen and a dinner provided by the famous Ruby's Catering, one of the most popular for Sri Lankan wedding food. After their shared

Sri Lankan wedding dinner Cavitha and Harry themselves gave speeches.

They were due to have the first dance but they didn't know their family had performed a surprise dance performance about their love story, which is an Asian wedding tradition where siblings and cousins will "entertain" the couple. Harry has an in-joke about his Carlton from Fresh Prince dance, so they all put on Carlton masks for a performance. Cavitha's sister also sang their first dance song to open up the dance floor before they ended the night with a mass group sparkler sash outside!

London pub wedding at Frederick’s restaurant

islington town hall wedding

Islington Town Hall wedding ceremony

Georgina and Richard had a classic London wedding of an Islington Town Hall civil ceremony, followed by the reception at a nearby London restaurant- Frederick's which is right next to Angel station in the Camden Mews area. We started the day at a rented airbnb where George got ready nearby with her bridesmaids into a gorgeous Jenny Packham beaded dress. The bridesmaids wore turquoise.

Frederick's wedding reception

Frederick's is a restaurant in North London that serves fantastic food and has great wine. They helped George and Richard keep it nice and simple, as they lived abroad during the wedding planning time. The venue has tasteful modern art decorating the walls so not much more is needed. They had speeches from family outdoors in the garden with canapés and drinks, before going inside for a few more speeches followed by dinner.

After the dinner they had the best man's speech and then a first dance before opening the party

I love shooting London restaurant weddings and London pub weddings, they're really relaxed and always have a good vibe. Near the Islington Town Hall there's lots of chilled reception wedding venues

Islington Town Hall and Victorian Bath House wedding

Shoreditch bridal prep

Hollyann and Namdi are a fun chilled out couple having a relaxed winter East London wedding that started in airbnb spaces they rented in Shoreditch. Hollyann wore a vintage Lucy Can't Dance dress with velvet maroon cat flats and her bridesmaids wore a mix of dark green dresses. Namdi wore a maroon suit and yellow tie, with all his groomsmen matching in their yellow ties and socks. Hollyann used to work as a florist so her floristry was provided by her old boss, with a personal sentimental nod to her grandma with the inclusion of a cauliflower floret in her bouquet. Her grandma married a greengrocer so she carried a cauliflower as her wedding bouquet! We only had a short spell at the Airbnb before taking a taxi to their Islington Town Hall civil ceremony.

Islington Town Hall civil ceremony

They had a civil ceremony at one of the most popular registry offices in London,

Victorian Bath House wedding

After the civil ceremony at Islington Town Hall, everyone went to East London near Shoreditch to The Victorian Bath House which is an incredible underground event space. Above ground on street level the entrance resembles an old exotic bathhouse with colourful tiles and stained glass window. Underneath this small door leads to a stunning Moroccan style event space with several rooms, furnished by luxe furniture, gentle lamp lights and gold and primary colour walls. They started their wedding reception with drinks and canapés during standing speeches.

After the speeches they went through for a fantastic dinner which had shared platters of whole salmon and chicken and after dinner they had another round of standing speeches alongside their cake cut and their surprise birthday cakes to two of their wedding guests.

They had wraps for their evening buffet alongside enjoying beers in the vintage bath tub!

Owl and Pussycat pub brunch

There's been a few London weddings I've shot for where the couple have organised a morning after brunch, such as this weekender I shot at The Hoxton Hotel. Hollyann and Namdi treated their close family and friends to a Sunday full English brunch at the Shoreditch pub The Owl and the Pussycat, before saying goodbye and letting everyone travel home!

Upton Barn Wedding

Wedding Krispy Kreme tower

Barn wedding photographer

Mary and Ross got in touch with me because they wanted a fun quirky wedding photographer for their Upton barn wedding. I started the day with Mary, her family and her bridesmaids in their matching black dressing gowns. Mary wore a unique bohemian embroidered bodice dress and her bridesmaids wore black elegant but rock n roll bridesmaids dresses.

They all jumped into special electric blue VW camper van and a yellow vintage VW pick up which was loaned to them as a wedding gift from  family friend and they all got in to head to Upton Barn and Walled Garden wedding venue

Upton Barn and Walled Garden Wedding

At their wedding ceremony venue Ross was waiting ready for his stunning bride who was walked in by her father. It was a super emotional ceremony with lots of tears from both the couple and guests at the various speeches

After the ceremony they had a drinks and canapés reception outside, alongside a few group photos before they had to run in for speeches and dinner just in time to avoid the rain! They were originally meant to have some outdoor games set up outside but sadly due to the rain they had to bring a lot of the games indoors!

Before the dinner they had a few speeches from friends as well as gift giving with the guests being given glow sticks and face glitter for their party favours, as Ross and Mary wanted to create a banging party later on.

After dinner they showed their guests their Krispy Kreme wedding cake and awesome Photo Booth set up. They also had a lovely guest book which included a print out of each of their messages to their mutual friend who set them up and it showed how they had both asked her for exactly what the other was like! They had also set up beer pong indoors for their guests

They had their first dance and people rocked out with the props and even turned the clean up safety signs into props (lol!)

If you want a fun wedding photographer for your boozy London wedding or your beautiful barn wedding then this wedding proves I've got you covered!
