Coin Laundry wedding

Islington Town Hall wedding ceremony

I started the day with G + R at their Islington Town Hall civil ceremony, prior to their Coin Laundry Wedding. The bride wore the most gorgeous Whistles wedding dress and carried a pink and peach pastel coloured bouquet from Boutique Workshop. The couple opted not to have the prep captured but the bride’s hair and make up was done by Elevate Bridal. The groom wore a summery sand suit with pink tie. I started my wedding photography coverage at their Islington Town Hall wedding ceremony where all the guests met outside. The bridesmaids wore stunning light green pastel silky bridesmaids dresses.

The bride did her first look with her father in the Islington Town Hall’s Angel Suite. This is a small room near the entrance that you can also hire for your wedding ceremony with witnesses

After the Islington Town Hall ceremony they let you take photos in their beautiful corridor, which allows the guests the go down and get ready with the confetti.

London wedding transport

After the ceremony we all got on a London double decker bus with all the guests. The bus drove to the Coin Laundry wedding reception. As a documentary wedding photographer in London I love travelling with the guests. Sometimes this is on the wedding bus or taking the tube. I prefer this over driving as I get to stay with the guests and capture lots more fun moments.

Coin Laundry wedding – Perfect London wedding venue restaurant

This was my first time photographing a Coin Laundry wedding, and I was so impressed with the venue. It is close to Islington Town Hall and has the most stunning light. It’s great to see a London restaurant flourish as a London wedding venue. They had the most elegant decor which was easy to capture with the gorgeous hard light coming through the Coin Laundry windows

The guests initially had drinks outside and down in the basement, which is decorated with prints from the inimitable Juno Calypso

Wedding reception at Coin Laundry

After the drinks in the basement, all the guests came back upstairs to the main restaurant area for their dinner and speeches. I absolutely loved the natural light in this area, there are several London restaurants that host wedding dinners that have great light and texture, for example the East Dulwich Tavern.

We ate amazing food and various family members gave hilarious and emotional speeches. The guests were laughing loads and making my job of capturing fun and joy really easy.

After the dinner and speeches everyone went downstairs to the basement to have the first dance and open the dance floor of this epic Coin Laundry wedding. The music entertainment and DJ was provided by Impromptu Acoustic and DJ Dave B.
