James and Laura are a super sweet couple who are one of the last to be able to hold a reception at The Asylum (they’re changing to become a ceremony only place from next year onwards). The Asylum, or Caroline Gardens Chapel is a stunning ruined building in Peckham- I’m sure you’ll get the idea from the photos! Laura got ready at their flat with her many bridesmaids in mint green dresses. Laura herself wore a Provonias dress and gorgeous jewel Roland Cartier shoes. James got her one of the best groom’s gifts I’ve ever seen. He custom made a box of cereal (because Laura loves cereal) of “Jamie’s Heart” which was “only for Laura” and had a free gift inside which was a Tiffany necklace sealed into the cereal packet! The detail of the box was immense- its first ingredient was Whole Love. It was a truly wonderful and unique gift!!
The ceremony itself was short but emotional, James cried when Laura walked in, bless him! After the ceremony they enjoyed drinks and canapes outside the Chapel, before going back in for dinner, fully decked out in Laura and James’ travel theme- each table was a country they’d been to or loved and the favours were sweets from each country. Some tables lucked out more than others on the sweetie front! For their couple shots, as well as the classic venue shots they asked for something a bit more urban and gritty, so we took a few photos in the neighbourhood. The speeches were quite emotional for both the couple and their family members, hilarious Laura’s dad had a hankie with big yellow smiley faces on! After the dinner everyone piled onto a bus to The Pepys, a riverside bar where they saw the evening out with drinks and dancing!
