The Reid Rooms Wedding Venue Essex
I'm so chuffed to share with you this amazing medieval dragon themed wedding of Rachel and Russell at The Reid Rooms in Essex. I don't tend to share details on my blog but Russell and Rachel did an AH-MAZING job of folding 1000 origami cranes, and also Russell folded each of the guests' name place cards which were these fantastic 3d dragon bookmarks! Rachel DIY decorated candle holders with ivy for the bridesmaids to hold walking down the aisle, their ceremony sign had a Lord of the Rings reference, their guestbook was a painting of a dragon around a heart painted by a friend, the bar had a belching ogre sign, the centrepieces were named after fantasy locations and the couple had created custom worlds on logs with a mix of lego and materials! They also had house dragon banners (very Game of Thronesesque!).
Rachel got ready upstairs with her bridesmaids wearing Lilac dresses which matched Rachel's purple lipstick and awesome dark purple leather steampunk boots.
The wedding ceremony was held in one of the barns at The Reid Rooms followed by reception drinks at The Belching Ogre. They'd brought along their favourite whisky which they shared out before braving the rain for their couple shots! Rachel, in her own words, is Welsh and hardy so the rain did not phase her one bit! Their guests enjoyed the mask prop box which also had play swords for the kids and adults to enjoy!
During dinner they used medieval drinking horns, and gave their best man a big beer tankard and the kids dragon lego kits.
After dinner they went outside with their guests to do a belated confetti throw, at The Reid rooms you're only allowed to throw confetti in a specific patch of green grass so it made a fantastic shot to gather all the guests around them!
The couple cut their ivy decorated cake accompanied by fish and chips before opening the dance floor where everyone had a fab time messing around with the props to the couple's playlist which fantastically included the Pokemon theme tune.
