Museum of Home wedding
The Museum of the Home is a fantastic hidden gem of a London wedding venue right next to Hoxton station. By day, it is an actual museum! When hired, it’s a multi room quirky wedding venue! You don’t hold your wedding day in the exhibit part of the museum, you utilise several of their modern rooms. However, you get to take your couple photos in the uniquely shaped narrow corridor exhibits. The exhibitions show how homes have transformed over the decades. There’s also plenty of outdoor space, and a stunning kitchen garden which reminds me of the outdoor urban gardens of Oasis Farm weddings.
You start the day getting ready in one of the empty side rooms, it’s easy to hide from your guests as the gather in the ceremony space, which later doubles as the dining room.

Museum of the Home wedding ceremony space
The Museum of Home wedding ceremony room is a compact modern white walled event space. It has a glass doored side that opens out to the beautiful gardens

Where to take wedding photos at the Museum of the Home
After the wedding ceremony you have a chance to take some couple and group photos around various parts of the Museum of Home. At the front of the venue there’s some steps and epic doors. This is a great spot for the confetti throw and the larger group photos. It’s more difficult to take big group photos inside the stunning gardens simply because it’s a long shaped venue and there’s little room for the photographer to step back. Instead, the gardens are ideal for couple photos. There are cool exhibits of home interiors but it’s worth knowing the couple cannot stand inside the exhibits.

East London wedding drinks reception
After taking some set photos the couple had requested they rejoined their guests in the gardens for their wedding drinks and canapés. The wedding canapés and dinner was provided by Warburtons Catering.

The wedding dinner takes place in the same room as the ceremony. On this occasion they extended the tables out into the garden with the doors open, for a semi al fresco vibe. The couple supplied disposable cameras on the tables and the guests had lots of fun with them.

First dance at the Museum of the Home
After the seated dinner, you move to a different event space for the dancing. This couple decided to have their speeches just before their first dance.
