Unique barn wedding venue in London
Oasis Farm Waterloo is a really cool wedding venue in the heart of Central London. It is a real urban farm right next to Southbank that is partnered with Jamie’s Farm, a charity that offers therapy for children through farming. When you hire this farm barn as your wedding venue, you are helping a great cause as Oasis Farm provide educational activities for local children in London. If you are interested in giving to charitable causes through your wedding planning, another great London wedding venue that is a charity is Refettorio Felix. When you host your wedding there you are supporting a community centre for homeless people.
At Oasis Farm Waterloo there are several chickens, pigs and goats that your wedding guests can visit and learn about. There’s also a lovely urban garden where you have your drinks reception. The main barn is a big steel shape with cool geometric wood panels on the exterior.
A fun American-British wedding
I started the day here with these two gorgeous, vibrant grooms. Instead of groom prep I started taking photos of their friends and family helping to set up this relaxed informal London wedding. This wedding is a merging of an American and Brit, so like this Balfour St Barts wedding it was a celebration of merging cultures! The couple chose to set up two rival tables of American and British snacks. The guests got to sample whatever snacks they wanted and compare! I tried a few USA snacks myself, it was fun to try the ones I’ve seen referenced on TV shows. I learned what Funyuns are!

A relaxed wedding ceremony officiated by a friend
The couple chose to have their wonderful friend conduct the wedding ceremony. One of the grooms, O, is a singer, so a lot of the guests are also professional singers. At one point in the ceremony they performed a super emotional song as a special choir. Then O stood up and sang a surprise song for J and moved all the guests to tears.

After the very personalised ceremony the guests spread out across inside the barn and outside having drinks and the American-British savoury snacks (mostly crisps!). The advantage of hiring a venue like Oasis Farm Waterloo is that you get to stock the bar yourself, which can save a lot of money. At one point they ran out of drinks and some of the guest had to head to the shops and bring back extra drinks with a shopping trolley, which was hilarious!

Hiring food trucks for your London wedding day
The couple had two different food trucks, Chubby Dumpling offering Asian food. These amazing chefs have recently appeared on morning TV cooking a Lunar New Year special. They also had a Mexican food caterer called Pink Cactus where guests could choose between tacos and burritos. Both of the food trucks were amazingly delicious and made for nice documentary photos.

Couple photos in Leake Street Arches London
We took the chance to stroll to the very nearby Leake Street for some classic London graffiti photos.

Karaoke at a London wedding
As O is a singer and many of the guests are too, karaoke was the perfect entertainment! It also provided the background music for the drinks reception! After some karaoke time the couple had their first dance and opened up the party dance floor! The American-Brit snacks converted from savoury to sweet! They changed over to sweet treats and cakes, and finished up this amazing relaxed London wedding with toasting marshmallows on an open fire to make American smores.
