I talk a lot against the idea of a ‘perfect’ wedding but this to me probably comes as close as it gets. Relaxed lovely couple, check. Happy super laugh-y guests, check. Stunning colourful venue, check. Multiple competitive games, check. Personal meaningful themes and touches, check. Embracing the chaos of kids, check. Flamingoes, check. As an alternative fun wedding photographer that’s the vibe that makes us buzz all day! N + S were the most wonderful couple to work for bringing lots of personal touches to their wedding to make it authentic and heart felt. They started the day getting ready in the special barns provided on site by The Canary Shed. Having on site accommodation at a wedding venue makes all the difference and is definitely a perk worth considering to reduce the morning wedding stress.
Their ceremony was conducted by their close friend, and as N and many of the guests were part of a choir together, there were impressive singing performances from both their celebrant-friend and with everyone together. The order of services were called playbills and they shared a shot as a being ritual. They also did a ring warming where you pass the rings around all the guests to be blessed with loving thoughts.
After the ceremony they had the groomsmen handing out ice cream sandwiches in vintage server ware. They’d also planned the cutest inflatable flamingoes for the kids to look after, and a mini golf tournament for the adults to contest over!
After the drinks reception they went to have dinner. The wedding favours were customised shopping trolley tokens (as N + S wanted the guests to have something that might actually use and not waste) which doubled up as a drinking game, which they provided the instructions for. The Canary Shed is a wedding venue in Essex that needs little to no decor, its signature brightly coloured canary roof is a show stopper. They had various speeches between the dinner, both emotional and funny.
