Cathy and Mark had a truly wonderful British afternoon tea themed wedding filled with laughter, scones, more laughter and some chilli eating competitions! This is so what it's all about for me, a down to earth day where everyone just had a great time! Cathy got ready in a hotel nearby and wore a Maggie Sottero dress that she got from Oxfam Bridal, Irregular Choice shoes and a home made red and yellow bouquet topped with her family tartan and pin. Her bridesmaids wore green spotty dresses from Lindybop and wore hairbows made out of the family tartan! They all boarded a vintage double decker bus to the church. Even the ceremony was fun and reflected Cathy and Mark- one of their chosen hymns was The Wise Man Built His House, complete with the hand actions! En route to the church, Cathy and her dad stopped off at the pub for a pint to honour her grandpa. After the ceremony they had literal bucketloads of confetti thrown at them before everyone hopped onto the bus to Rotherwick village hall, where they'd done an AMAZING diy decor job! The guests arrived to Pimms and popcorn in Union Jack flag cups. The tables were named after beers, and the table plan was (cleverly) a collection of tags suckered onto the glass door! The guest names were on one side and a photo of the beer bottle on the otherside! They even managed to bring in kegs of beer sharing their new surname!! They had lots of scones and nibbles laid out, amongst decorative chilli plants and fun mask props. At least one table had a game of eating the chillis, the reactions are below!! After the speeches, which included a game of whodunnit- Cathy or Mark?, there were lawn games and garter flinging. After the cake cutting of two cakes, one in a British flag and one in an American flag, they had their first dance, the kids went nuts on the dancefloor and the adults had evening Burritos!
