Matt and Charlie got married in the last days of winter at Brighton College near their flat by Brighton pier. Charlie got ready with her bridesmaids who wore dusky pink multi-way floor length dresses and fur shawls, whilst Charlie wore pink roses in her hair and an epic blush pink and white lace Victorian-esque Mori Lee wedding dress.
Brighton College has its own little chapel where they had a relaxed ceremony, which involved singing pop songs instead of hymns! The father said he might consider doing contemporary songs more often as people tend to sing along a lot better!
After the ceremony we took a few family photos before Charlie went in to look at the reception room. It was the first time she had seen it as Matt had done all the work with the decorating! As you can see she was really happy with the beautiful fairy lights and rustic tree stump and acorn centrepieces. The table place cards were dance move instructions, which was really fitting for Matt and Charlie and their friends and family, who were all party animals as I discovered later on in the evening!
They had a short round of speeches that they followed up with a game where each table had to say the most embarrassing story from their table. The winner by a landslide was the guest who accidentally punctured a bolluck and had a drink and went home before going to the hospital!
After the dinner and speeches, the Brighton College wedding staff turned the room around so it was ready for the first dance and party mode, one of the most important parts of Charlie and Matt’s day! There were crazy masks, break dancing with broken feet and a fair degree of bum mooning and front end flashing!
All in all I want to thank Charlie and Matt and all their guests for making me feel really wonderfully welcome throughout the day, and also for being such great people to photograph!
