Sam and Rachel are a wicked couple who, despite being society’s definition of fitty mcvites are both humble and sweet, preferring to not have any getting ready photos as they’re not keen on the attention! So I started my day at the amazing East Quay Venue which sits right on the beach at Whitstable, the town famous for its oyster festival (seafood, nom nom nom). Rachel wore a gorgeous Maggie Sottero dress and a hair vine handmade by her friend. Sam wore a wicked Paul Smith suit in a peacock blue. It’s super cool decked out with fairy lights and it has atmospheric wood and brick all over. Sam and Rachel named the tables after drinks with stories about their lives that made each drink special. They hand made the place cards by cutting out head shots of their friends and family and mounting them onto corks and hand painting the corky bodies! It was a surprise to the guests who had no clue their photos had been sneaked from social media etc., so it was a fun reveal! They also had a truly unique wedding “cake” which was actually a green jelly sandcastle surrounded by biscuit crumbs that resembled sand! After the ceremony the guests had drinks on the stoney beach whilst Rachel’s brother and their various talented friends provided the music! In the evening after their BBQ dinner they got our the glow sticks as the groom took to the DJ decks for a short stint alongside their DJ friends.
