North London pub wedding
As an alternative colourful documentary London wedding photographer I photograph at a lot of London pub weddings. The Victoria Stakes is a fab pub in Muswell Hill, North London with the cutest space for a relaxed civil ceremony indoors. There is a gorgeous botanical heated outdoor sheltered courtyard. I started the day with L at their gorgeous home. P is a graphic designer so it had the perfect styling and vibe for creative wedding photography. L wore this gorgeous modern stylish two piece wedding dress. The bride’s dress was customised by her friends who work in theatre costume design. You never have to worry about dress tweaks with friends like these! I love photographing brides getting ready at home because all the decor is personal. It also means beloved pets can be included.
P was already waiting for his gorgeous bride in The Victoria Stakes pub. She strolled to the wedding in white flip-flops, such a chill bride. The Victoria Stakes is a gorgeous elegant gastro pub right at the base of Alexandra Palace in North London. The groom designed and made their ceremony floral hoop, so he was determined to set it up. The floral hoop has beautiful white flowers in the day and converted to their evening party decor at night.

After their ceremony the couple came to Alexandra Palace park to take photos at the iconic landmark and its green surroundings. We did a mock confetti throw. I made sure the couple are refreshed. When I photograph outdoor couple photos in woodlands I look for interesting light patches. Also shapes in the trees are crucial for beautiful portraits.
The drinks reception takes place in the gorgeous outdoor courtyard. The Yard at Victoria Stakes has lovely botanical decor.
After dinner and speeches they cut their stunning cake with white orchids. Everyone stood up to gather around the three tier naked cake. They threw confetti to mark the start of the party. The wedding party helped blow up hundreds of white balloons and inflatables to decorate the dancefloor.
