Photography Studio style wedding venues – MKII

This was my first time photographing a wedding at MKII which is crazy because it’s right up my street! I’m a photographer who loves industrial and rustic back drops. I’ve shot Loft Studios weddings plenty of times which is a similar photography studio venue in West London. I live in Essex on the tube line so it’s been wonderful to finally work at an East London photography studio venue that I am more local for.

Why chose a photography studio wedding venue in London

There’s plenty of reasons to choose a photography studio as your London wedding venue. Firstly, the style is very modern and cool aesthetic. If you have a rainy wedding day you always know there’s somewhere indoors for you to easily shoot your group photos. The blank canvas means that you can decorate it how you like. They’re usually multi room spaces so you can have the dinner set up before the drinks and have less need for guests to be moved around when turning around the space.

I started the day of this gorgeous couple at a musician’s stunning opulent Airbnb home. If you want cool stylish bridal prep photos booking well decorated artists homes like this can really create the best wedding photos

Abney Park Chapel wedding ceremony

I’ve photographed weddings at Abney Park Chapel before, this was a unique experience because it was during a huge storm so we had restrictions on staying in the park after and had to be escorted by security to and from the Chapel as it’s in the middle of lots of tall trees! Abney Park Chapel is one of the official Hackney Venues. The other Hackney wedding venues are Clissold House, the Glasshouse and Hackney Town Hall.

The bride and groom are both passionate musicians/involved in the music scene, so it was really important to them to have live music. Some of the guests formed a wonderful choir who performed some of the bride’s favourite arrangements.

We only had literal minutes to snap a few couple photos in Abney Park, but I’m pretty pleased with how these relaxed natural wedding portraits came out!

After the wedding ceremony everyone got on a classic London red bus to reach their MKII wedding reception.

MKII wedding reception

MKII is a gorgeous photography studio and event space Lower Clapton in East London. It has a brick and industrial aesthetic with natural light and white wall areas. There’s a large open plan space and upstairs rooms too. Although I didn’t shoot the wedding ceremony here today it is fully licensed, pet friendly and ground floor accessible. The guests had their drinks reception next to the bar in the natural light space near the front door. We went upstairs to take some awesome group photos. For the speeches pre dinner everyone gathered standing in the area that would later become the dance floor. This is a large disco ball clad nook that is part of the open plan main room.

The beautiful Vietnamese wedding food was supplied by Hai Cafe, the guests enjoyed colourful sharing platters and then the best man speeches which included some fun games!

After the dinner and speeches the couple cut the cake and everyone smashed up the dance floor!

Thank you to all the amazing London wedding suppliers who made this cool East London wedding possible! If you’re looking for a fun artistic wedding photographer then look no further! If you’re looking for one of these guys…
