Bodean’s and colour at a nautical Trinity Buoy Wharf wedding in London!

Ashleigh and Russell held their very personal wedding at one of my favourite London venues, Trinity Buoy Wharf. I’ve shot here a few times before but everytime has had a different feel, different decor etc. This was the first time I shot the ceremony held by the open big black barn doors. Ashleigh and Russell both got ready on the Sunborn Hotel which is actually a moored huge ferry. Russell and his groomsmen wore blue suits with green ties, and he gifted each of them a pair of happy socks! The bridesmaids wore dark jade green dresses from Coast. They hosted a wedding where the theme was kind of “stuff we like”, which I totally approve of. It’s my 30th birthday coming up soon and I splashed out on filling a party room with “stuff I like”, I think all too often people do things just because they feel they ought to, there’s nothing to say a wedding won’t be amazing if things don’t match up perfectly! They had Bodean’s, an ice cream truck and a taco truck in the evening for their catering, the table was decorated with spray painted golden and neon pineapples, and daffodils they hung tassel multicoloured bunting everywhere. The table place cards were favourite film quotes. Their family member made them a Tiki surf bar from palettes and corrugated iron. Instead of canapes they had a DIY’d doughnut wall fronted by a bust of Homer Simpson. They had three cakes in different flavours decorated with flowers, leaves and chocolate, their guestbook was an old fashioned typewriter

For the reception drinks interlude they hired a catamaran style boat, on which they held their speeches. Usually people have their speeches in between the dinner back at Trinity Buoy Wharf, but this was an ace idea as it got all the nerve inducing bits out of the way for the groomsmen and it means everyone could tuck into their massive Bodean’s. After dinner they opened up the dancefloor and let people have a chill time either chatting or partying it up!
