Emma and Mat were one of the first couples to ever book me, waaaayyy back years ago! So it was really nice to finally shoot their wedding at the gorgeous Gaynes Park wedding venue in Essex. The day started in the lovely Appleloft with Emma getting ready on site with her girls. She wore cute Jenny Packham flats and a beautiful dress by Adore Brides. Mat wore a really cool brown vintage style suit from Jack Bunneys. The groomsmen wore matching Jack Bunneys suits whilst the bridesmaid wore dusky pink bridesmaid gowns from Monsoon. All the flowers were done by Kelly Nelson, which included a portrait of Em’s dad wrapped around the bouquet.
The ceremony was held in the conservatory, a lovely light room with a long outdoor aisle.
Mat specifically asked me to get his first look at Em as she walked down the aisle, so many of the wedding guests got really emotional seeing her!
After the ceremony everyone went outside for beers and winter Pimms! Both Emma and Mat are much more into just having a nice relaxed time, so I think it was a relief for them to get the big formal part out of the way and get on with enjoying their wedding day.
The wedding dinner was held in the barn, which was decorated with a rustic natural theme that Emma and Mat had DIY’d themselves!
En route between the drinks reception and dinner, we took a few shots in the Garden and Mat and Emma got showered with confetti… literally the whole basket!
They had a short round of speeches, followed by Giant Connect 4 back in the ceremony room whilst the barn was turned over for drinks and dancing.
The cake cutting and first dance were both done in the middle of a dancefloor, perfectly backlit with purple lights and pom poms! They rounded off the rest of the evening with endless partying with all their beloved friends, family and alcohol! They had what I must say was the best hog roast I’ve ever tried at a wedding, I do need to find out who their caterers were because it was genuinely fab crackling!
