Asylum Chapel and Brunswick House wedding

Asylum Chapel wedding ceremony

Asylum Chapel is a gorgeous, iconic and unique wedding venue situated in South London. I have photographed many Asylum Chapel weddings. Originally you could have both the ceremony and reception at the Asylum Chapel but now they host ceremonies only. As a result couples have gone to other venues, for example to have a NoMad Hotel wedding. Today’s Asylum Chapel wedding ceremony was hosted by the celebrant Francesca Clark. I met E + P at their wedding ceremony, E got his dapper wedding suit from Gieves and Hawkes. P stunned everyone with her modern Solace London wedding dress with amazing statement sleeves. The Solace London bridal collection is perfect for modern, edgy fashion conscious brides. Rose Daniel did the perfect hair and make up.

The bridesmaids arrived with P in gorgeous pink/red toned dresses. The bride was walked down the aisle by both her parents.

Having a celebrant led ceremony is a fabulous way to customise your wedding your way. In registrar civil weddings you’re not allowed any religious worded music or hymns, so you can use a celebrant ceremony to mix both an informal vibe with the inclusion of your religious preferences.

South London wedding

After their Asylum Chapel wedding ceremony the couple and all their loved ones went outside for their confetti toss. You get a decent window of time to take some group and couple photos when you book an Asylum Chapel wedding. You are not allowed to roam too far off the site as it is surrounded by residential properties. However you can use the steps outside, and the gorgeous inside architecture. The natural light always lends itself to cinematic wedding photos.

London wedding bus

The couple hired a vintage white London double decker bus to get from their wedding ceremony to their Brunswick House wedding reception. A London bus is a fantastic way to get a whole group of guests between venues of a London wedding.

Brunswick House wedding photography

I have photographed a wedding at Brunswick House before but it was a December winter wedding. It was super interesting to see the difference between that and a Summer Brunswick House wedding. It’s a fab venue with quirky decor, reddy brown walls and lots of antiques. You get private access and use for half the venue, with a separate entrance to their public restaurant. They serve canapes and drinks during the reception, before guests head upstairs to the dining area spread out over two rooms.

Brunswick House wedding dinner

The couple opted to have their numerous speeches during their dinner courses. To ensure all the guests could see the speakers, they gave the speeches at the doorway that divides the rooms!

Brunswick House couple photos

Brunswick House is located on a super busy London road so there isn’t much space for outdoor photos. If you’re planning a wedding at Brunswick House make sure you take any outdoor shots you want at your ceremony space. There’s the front steps and doorway but it’s a surprisingly tight space. On the flip side the interiors are so beautiful you don’t really need to shoot outdoors much. We had gotten some fantastic photos at the Asylum Chapel, so I just did a few couple shots celebrating the Brunswick House interior.

Wedding dance floor in Brunswick House crypt

The first dance and the party always take place in the crypt in Brunswick House, which is a series of stone joining rooms complete with its own basement bar.
