London Clapton wedding with turquoise sequins

Clapton Country Club is one of my favourite industrial East London wedding venues. It’s got gorgeous atmospheric light across several bricked rooms that are decorated with epic florals and vines. It’s unique to have an East London venue that can hold prep, ceremony and party with outdoor space for large numbers of guests, one of the few others being Loft Studios wedding venue. I started the day getting ready with A in the adjoining prep room, and although I have shot many Clapton Country Club weddings this was the first time I’d been in the prep space properly! The ceremony then often takes place across the road in the Department of Life building, which has gorgeous beams and distressed brickwork, and the perfect set of steps for your ceremony speakers.

Their emotional and wonderful ceremony was conducted by the love Sarah Powell, and included readings from friends.

After the ceremony we took a few quick classic couple portraits before they met their guests with a confetti entrance in the street outside and starting their drinks reception. Before they sat down for dinner they had the speeches from the traditional speakers but also as a modern twist a maid of honour speech AND the bride’s speech, they were both awesome!

After the speeches the guests went outside to allow the Clapton Country Club to turn the room around, ready for the first dance. They also did a tribute to B’s Jewish heritage with a hora, which A embraced with gusto!
