Battersea Arts Centre wedding photographer

I was so excited to photograph this Battersea Arts Centre wedding. I lived in South London not too far from it for the longest time! It’s such a gorgeous creative wedding venue in London that doesn’t need decorating. It has super unique distressed walls, iconic round lobbies, domed and arched ceilings. It’s truly one of the quirkiest London wedding venues I’ve been to. The whole wedding was immaculately planned by Revelry Events who are amongst the best wedding planners in London. I’ve worked with them on many London weddings such as this London Jewish wedding at Siobhan Dance Studios.

Chelsea Townhouse wedding photos

I joined the bride getting ready at the gorgeous Chelsea Townhouse, which is a 5 star hotel in Chelsea. Her puff sleeve modern wedding dress was from Emma Victoria Payne. They had Valentina Ingrosso on bridal hair and Niamh Goodhind doing wedding make up. Her bridesmaids wore dresses in mixed rainbow bright pastel complimentary colours to the flowers. The floristry for the day was provided by the amazing Pesh Flowers who is an award winning London florist.

After getting ready, the bride and her bridesmaids travelled to their Battersea Arts Centre wedding ceremony via taxi.

Battersea Arts Centre wedding ceremony in the council chamber

A lot of the Battersea Arts Centre wedding photos you will see on google take place in the Grand Hall. However it’s possible to save that room for your dinner and have your wedding ceremony in the spacious but more intimate council chamber. The council chamber is up the main staircase and up to the right. The couple decorated this rustic wood panelled space with colourful ball lanterns from Crescent Moon Events. They provide wedding and event design and props. They had a gorgeous floral backdrop provided by the aforementioned Pesh Flowers. Their wooden wedding ceremony chairs were provided by Ya Hire.

Throwing confetti inside the Battersea Arts Centre council chamber

Look at how gorgeous this Battersea Wedding couple are! Just divine! I love capturing all the smiles and laughter with my natural documentary approach to wedding photography. A relaxed couple in love produce the best memories. The couple chose to have their guests throw confetti as they walked down the aisle instead of staging a moment.

Wedding drinks reception at the Battersea Arts Centre Octagonal Hall

After the wedding ceremony the guests are funnelled down towards the stunning Octagonal hall. It has Roman statues, a domed stained glass ceiling and tiled flooring. The bar has unique mosaic pictures. The amazing Dinner Ladies provided the canapés and food for this wedding. I have worked with them many times, including at this Wes Anderson themed Lea Rowing Club wedding. They are a pioneering female led catering company that have become the recommended supplier at many cool London wedding venues. You also know this catering company is good because the bride was a finalist on Channel 4’s “cooking up a fortune” and she herself is a professional cook running the supper club Olive and Caramel.

Wedding decoration inspiration in the Grand Hall of the Battersea Arts Centre

The Grand Hall barely needs much decoration as the ceiling is so majestic. They also do an excellent job of the professional lighting, some of the best I’ve seen for a wedding venue in London. However this creative couple opted to add that extra jazz to their wedding styling with the help of Locate to Create providing vintage sofas. Crescent Moon Events provided the chandeliers and disco balls. Albert Hall Dance Floors & staging provided the checker board dance floor rental.

Wedding couple photo locations at the Battersea Arts Centre

There are several great photo locations for wedding photos at Battersea Arts Centre. Inside the Octagonal Hall is an obvious choice, but you have to wait until the guests are seated for dinner to use the space. There is also the side corridor connecting the Octagonal and Grand Hall that looks really cool and unique. The front lobby has cool vintage art and cinema posters. The main staircase has beautiful light and outside the venue the Battersea Arts Centre sign looks iconic.

Wedding speeches in the Ocatagonal Hall of Battersea Arts Centre

You could choose to have your speeches between the courses of your wedding dinner, but this couple chose to have them on a small stage in the Octagonal Hall. This is before cutting the gorgeous colourful orange multi coloured wedding cake that the bride baked herself.

Lebanese Zaffe wedding entrance

After dinner, the couple surprised the guests with a fantastic Lebanese Zaffe wedding entrance. These are loud, fun and entertaining dancers who kick start the wedding dance floor with aplomb! All the wedding guests, regardless of whether they had experience Lebanese dancing before, got mega involved. The party then continued with the help of Tru Groove Band, who are a soul wedding band.

If you love the look of this creative wedding in London in a large urban space check out this wedding at Village Underground. The lighting and grandeur of the Battersea Arts Centre looks similar to these Natural History Museum wedding photos. I specialise in fun documentary wedding photography in London and can capture the dance floor of any party!
