Modern Indian wedding in London
Photographing the first ever wedding at The Londoner Hotel was an honour. It was a two day bonanza with an Indian and civil wedding ceremony. The enquiry came to me as I’d shot the wedding of the groom’s friend at the Coach House at Markshall Estate, a fabulous Essex wedding venue that I’ve moved close to. The Londoner is a gorgeous new hotel right in the middle of Leicester Square. It has a house ball room uniquely decorated with mirrors and customisable lights that make it perfect for a wide range of events that have a lot of people.
In other words, the perfect Central London venue for an Indian wedding ceremony. It’s hard to come by hotels with a large enough space to hold an Indian wedding, with most of them being situated on the west side of London near Heathrow. The room decor is opulent and quirky. Some of the nicest London hotel rooms I’ve shot in. The groom and his groomsmen wore traditional Indian dress

R wore the most gorgeous floral embroidered dress instead of a sari to give a truly modern twist to the Indian wedding ceremony. They held their garland ceremony on the ornate staircase, where the families embraced each other.

Everyone then made their way to the ballroom for the wedding ceremony on the beautiful pink themed room and pink mandap.

They then prepared for their civil ceremony which was taking place in the gorgeous central courtyard, with views right to the top floor bar. R wore a sequin dress and N changed into a morning suit with a light teal colour scheme.

They had drinks and canapés in the courtyard before heading out for their couple photos and for the ceremony guests to have a break before the evening party.

They then had the evening party kick off back in the ballroom with party music courtesy of the Function band, alongside dinner and speeches
