A throwback to the first ever wedding at @thelondo A throwback to the first ever wedding at @thelondoner hotel. A first of two parts, this was the registry wedding held in the stunning atrium that sits right in the middle of the hotel. Underneath the sky high suspended bar, it is a breathtaking setting to get married in this modern light space.

The Londoner is one of the few central london wedding venues that can hold huge capacity weddings, much needed for an Indian wedding in London. To see how the mandap can be set up here stay tuned for the next post!

This is the kind of photography I love- real moments told with extra context for wholesome storytelling.

Couples who value their people and art (the bride herself is an artist) but relaxed enough for a curbside trainer swap!

When I saw the local merry wives play poster I got super excited!

Can you see the difference before and after? Gate Can you see the difference before and after?

Gatekeeping isn’t my style! Admitting that you have an editing team is a taboo topic but the reality is most photographers I know are using at least AI software to edit.

I’ve used my (human) editors @oodio_studio for years now, and I can hand on my heart say that it’s one of the most crucial parts of my wedding photography business.

Firstly I was never really into editing, I’d say I’m a better photographer than a digital editor. So I’d spend all my weekday time and energy sloowwwly squinting at the screen, get to Friday and have no time to recover before shooting at the weekend. It was a one way path to burnout.

Working with an editor means I have more time to breathe in between shoots. They get my photos 95-100% of the way there and I still look over everything, make occasional tweaks and I do all the more detailed photoshopping like removing fire exit signs.

Now as a mum of two it has become even more important to me to have priceless time with my family, that’s why I say Oodio are so integral to both my business and my life in general because they allow me to be a better photographer AND a better parent.

Oodio in particular are great- I have a dedicated WhatsApp chat with the team so it’s easy to give feedback- every editor needs time to collaborate with you and get your preferences just right. I use their magic touch/local adjustments service, imo AI software can’t replicate the human eye.

Wedding photography in particular is distinguished by the need for speed and working with restricted and rushed conditions, so often I will need to shoot in less than ideal lighting scenarios and that’s where the local adjustments in post processing makes my documentary style of photography possible. I know some photographers worry about the cost, but to be honest I would have to accept less weddings if I was editing by myself, so it balances out.

Oodio will be at the photography show in Birmingham in March so you can meet them there and see some of my work in print in their lovely albums. If you’d like to give them a try you can get $20 off with the code MariaOOD2026

Pleased to share that I’ve won another @thisisrepo Pleased to share that I’ve won another @thisisreportage award this morning! It’s one of 61 top images chosen out of 10,500 submissions so as always it’s an honour to be chosen! It’s also a special one as this is one of my absolute personal favourite shots that I have submitted for various awards repeatedly because sometimes you know in your heart why you love a photo and you’re just waiting for others to see it too.

If you appreciate this photo then you’re my kind of client to work for! If you’re a photographer take this as your sign to never give up believing in your weirdness.

When I saw this couple and their drink can and their outfits I knew this was a one in a million lucky moment!
